Bridging the gap between Schools and Communities.

Workforce Preparedness & Industry Credential Program 

RB Sigma was the first company in the United States to train a Secondary Education system in the LEAN methodology at the Chardon Local School District in Ohio.  The program was created in the Winter of 2018 resulting from a bond issue failing to be approved on the November 2017 ballot.  The bond failure forced the district to consolidate Elementary schools; as a result, we can begin educating them on the Lean Six Sigma methodology and how it could be used for the District to operate more efficiently as an organization.  ​

As we began identifying operational improvements; we were challenged by Chardon Leadership to modify our curriculum so that it could be taught to High School Juniors within the academic calendar.  In the Fall of 2018, we trained 39 High School Juniors in the Lean Methodology. ​​​​​​​​​​​​

Once district Leadership and Students were trained, they joined together; and broke apart independently to run projects that would affect: Maintenance, Food Services, Admissions, Parent Pick-Up Procedures, and Daily Operations.

We equip Education leaders with the right tools.

We held a Career Fair for the Chardon Schools. Here, all students had the chance to talk to many different businesses, colleges, and armed forces to learn more about their path after high school.

  • Our lean students had a special oppurtunity to be interviewed by manufacturing companies about internships and positions.
  • Most of the companies said that they would have hired our lean training students over others.

Chardon staff was also trained in lean:

  • Our program enables those teachers we teach, to then teach and train the next generation of students in the principles of lean.
  • Staff could use lean principles in their everyday work to save time on tasks and save money when ordering supplies.

Principal, Douglas Murray is a strong supporter of our education and the lean principles.

  • Lean helped out their Master Schedule become more efficient in saving class time and organization.
  • Lean also helps the school budget for the future with supplies and text books.

In real world manufacturing, Bailey from PCC Airfoils comments on how the lean program would impact their business and industry.

  • A few students came into PCC and talked lean with Bailey and his team.
  • They also recieved a tour of PCC and showed how Lean Principles were implemented into their processes.
